These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our website www.ontariohandymen.com, as well as any related services provided by Ontario Handymen.

1. Definitions

  • Client / Customer / You: Any individual, homeowner, tenant, property manager, or business entity requesting or receiving services from Ontario Handymen.
  • Services: All handyman, installation, repair, assembly, moving, cleaning, or maintenance work provided by Ontario Handymen or its subcontractors.
  • Website: The official Ontario Handymen website located at www.ontariohandymen.com.
  • Technician / Contractor: The skilled professional(s) assigned by Ontario Handymen to perform the requested services.

2. Scope of Service

Ontario Handymen provides a range of residential and light commercial handyman services, including but not limited to:

  • Furniture and equipment assembly
  • TV and wall mount installations
  • Electrical and plumbing assistance (minor, non-structural)
  • Cleaning, moving, and heavy lifting
  • Yard and outdoor maintenance
  • Custom home repairs and renovations

We reserve the right to refuse or modify service requests that are unsafe, unlawful, or beyond the reasonable expertise of our technicians.

3. Service Availability

Our services are offered across Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Markham, Hamilton, Aurora, Ajax, Pickering, Etobicoke, and surrounding areas.
Availability depends on technician scheduling, weather conditions, and geographic limitations. Ontario Handymen will make every reasonable effort to fulfill your service request promptly but does not guarantee immediate availability.

4. Estimates and Pricing

  • All estimates provided (verbally, in writing, or through our website) are approximate and based on the information provided by the customer.
  • Prices are subject to change depending on actual work scope, unforeseen conditions, or material requirements discovered on-site.
  • Additional time, materials, or labor not included in the original estimate will be billed accordingly.
  • Ontario Handymen reserves the right to revise pricing at any time without prior notice.
  • Projects located outside the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) may be subject to additional transportation and travel fees.

5. Booking and Payment Policy

  • Bookings may be made via phone, email, or through our online form.
  • A deposit or call-out fee may be required to secure your appointment.
  • Full payment is due immediately upon completion of services unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Accepted payment methods include credit/debit cards, e-transfer, or cash.
  • Failure to pay in full may result in additional charges, collection action, or suspension of future services.

6. Cancellations and Rescheduling

  • Cancellations made within 24 hours of a scheduled appointment may incur a cancellation fee equal to one hour of the booked service rate.
  • Ontario Handymen reserves the right to reschedule services due to weather, technician illness, emergencies, or supply issues.
  • We will make every reasonable effort to communicate changes promptly. 

7. Customer Responsibilities

The customer agrees to:

  • Provide safe, legal, and unobstructed access to the service area.
  • Ensure power, water, and other utilities are available when needed.
  • Obtain all necessary permissions or building access approvals.
  • Notify Ontario Handymen of any hazardous conditions, pets, or materials on-site.
  • Supervise minors and secure valuables during service visits.

Ontario Handymen is not responsible for damages or delays caused by unsafe environments or failure to disclose relevant information.

8. Limitations of Service

Our technicians perform minor plumbing and electrical work only, within provincial safety standards.
For major electrical wiring, gas installations, or structural work, customers must contact a licensed specialist. Ontario Handymen will not perform work that violates the Ontario Building Code, Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) regulations, or local municipal bylaws.

9. Liability and Warranties

  • All work performed by Ontario Handymen is backed by a 7-day workmanship guarantee for minor repairs and installations.
  • Warranty excludes normal wear and tear, misuse, or third-party interference.
  • Ontario Handymen is not liable for incidental, indirect, or consequential damages, including lost income, business interruption, or property damage caused by unforeseeable circumstances.
  • Customers are responsible for verifying that all products, fixtures, or furniture provided for installation are safe, compatible, and manufacturer-approved.

10. Damages and Claims

If you believe damage occurred during service:

  1. Notify Ontario Handymen within 24 hours of service completion.
  2. Provide written details, photos, and documentation.
  3. Ontario Handymen will inspect and respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Failure to report within 48 hours releases Ontario Handymen from responsibility.
Our maximum liability shall not exceed the total amount paid for the specific service rendered.

11. Independent Contractors

Ontario Handymen may engage independent contractors or subcontractors to perform services.
All contractors are insured and background-checked. Ontario Handymen is not responsible for any additional promises, verbal agreements, or unauthorized changes made by subcontractors without written approval.

12. Safety and Access

Our team reserves the right to refuse service if:

  • The environment is deemed unsafe or unsanitary.
  • The customer exhibits abusive or threatening behavior.
  • Access to the property is restricted or denied.

Safety comes first, for both our clients and our professionals.

13. Intellectual Property

All content on www.ontariohandymen.com, including text, graphics, logos, designs, and images, is the intellectual property of Ontario Handymen.
Unauthorized reproduction or distribution is strictly prohibited without written consent.

14. Privacy Policy

We respect your privacy. Personal information collected during bookings, quotes, or communication is used solely for providing services and improving customer experience.
Ontario Handymen never sells or rents customer information to third parties.

15. Termination of Service

Ontario Handymen reserves the right to:

  • Refuse or cancel any service at its discretion.
  • Suspend ongoing services due to non-payment or unsafe working conditions.
  • Terminate agreements with clients who repeatedly violate these terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and applicable Canadian federal regulations.
Any disputes arising from these terms or services rendered will be resolved in Ontario’s appropriate legal jurisdiction.

17. Changes to Terms

Ontario Handymen may update or revise these Terms and Conditions at any time without notice. Updates become effective immediately upon posting on our website.
